They came out to give a quote, gave me 2 options. I went with the cheapest one, then the 2 other techs who went to do the work a few days later, doubled the price. Costing me more time and money. Why send someone for a quote for it to not be honored? Or better yet for everyone, don't say you can do it one way, only to change your mind. Say you might not beable to do it that way, so we arent surprised. I found someone else to do it.

You were not charged a single dime for that initial visit. Once we gained full access, it became clear that the lowest‑cost option you selected wasn’t possible. We notified you immediately, and when you chose to seek additional quotes to meet your price point, we respected that decision and departed the property — again, without charging anything for either appointment. We apologize for the time lost and hope you were able to find a company that better aligns with your project needs.

I contacted Clark's Mechanical after seeing their commercial on TV for a tune-up special. I also recall seeing mention of the company as a recommendation on social media. My HVAC is 20 years old and had never been serviced and thought it could be money well spent especially given it's age. I then looked to see they had excellent reviews so I called. They quickly set up an appointment in two days. Levi was the tech sent for the tune-up. Levi was personable, friendly, respectful, very knowledgeable and very smart. He was a pleasure to talk with. He was very helpful and answered all my questions as well as gave advice I wish I would have been given when my HVAC was initially installed. Levi is an obvious asset to the company which is not always the case, especially these days. I will call them again for any future needs I may have as well as recommend them to others.

I called them for a AC check up before the hot summer and he said he really couldn't do anything to mine because it was an old system, he admitted that he didn't do anything as far as servicing it, he didn't open it up, didn't clean it out, didn't do anything I'm not impressed I actually would like to have my money back. He did open up the furnace and remove the sealing tape on it don't ask me why he was into the furnace it makes me suspicious. The guy was very nice & extremely, but I think he was just more into pressuring me to get a new unit for $21,000. I don't think so, just for the AC unit. So I'll call another company.
Thank you for sharing your concerns. As a family‑owned company, we take every service call seriously, so I want to clarify exactly what was documented during your appointment. Your furnace and air conditioner are connected as one combined system, not two independent units. The indoor coil sits directly on top of the furnace, and in your case, the coil is installed sideways inside the furnace cabinet. Because of this configuration, the only way to access, inspect, or photograph the coil is to open the furnace itself — which is exactly what our technician did. We have detailed photos of each step, including the coil connected to your 1993 Aquatherm furnace. While the coil itself was clean, the rest of the system showed significant age‑related issues. We have clear photos of the blower motor completely caked in debris and actively leaking grease and oil. Your system is an older Aquatherm R22 setup, and due to its age, condition, and refrigerant type, it carried too much liability for us to safely gauge up or pressurize. This is not a matter of willingness — it is a matter of safety, EPA compliance, and preventing further damage to a failing system. We stand behind our technician’s recommendations. Because the furnace and AC operate as one hydronic‑assisted system, with water running through both the AC coil and the furnace, they cannot be replaced independently. Replacing only one side would leave the other half incompatible and nonfunctional. That is why both the furnace and the AC were quoted together — not as an upsell, but because the system physically requires it. The outdoor condenser was also inspected. It has major hail damage, but our technician still brushed it out and cleaned it as much as safely possible. We understand it can be frustrating when an older system cannot be serviced the same way a modern one can. Our responsibility is to provide honest, safe, and defensible recommendations based on what we find — not to risk damaging an R22 system that is already at the end of its service life. If you’d like, we can review the photos and documentation with you so you can see exactly what was found. We’re always here to help you make the most informed decision for your home. The upgrade options were simply provided at your daughter’s request.
